Demidov Acting Certificate Program Welcomes the Class of 2027
Two-Year Journey of Artistic Discovery Begins Across Continents
We are thrilled to announce the launch of the new Two-Year Demidov Acting Certificate Course, and to extend a heartfelt welcome to the Class of 2028 — an inspiring and diverse group of talented actors from New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, London, and Moscow. This international ensemble embarks on a transformative journey, rooted in the pioneering legacy of Nikolai Demidov, and dedicated to uncovering the full depth of the actor’s creative nature.
Over the course of two intensive years, the actors will train in the Demidov School of Acting, cultivating spontaneity, freedom from psychological and physical strain, and a deep connection to the subconscious. The training will guide them through:
- The principles of involuntary experiencing and living truthfully on stage
- The technique of Demidov Etudes and text embodiment
- Emotional development through subconscious triggers and organic emergence
- The art of character formation from the inside out
- The ethics and psychology of the Actor-Creator
- Creative calm and psycho-physiological readiness
- Ensemble and solo work, culminating in advanced performance projects
This unique two-year program provides weekly online training, guided assignments, collaborative development, and optional intensives, creating a dynamic laboratory for artistic growth.
The course is led by Professor Andrei Malaev-Babel, Certifying Master Teacher and one of the world’s leading Demidov specialists. He is joined by Jayson Warner Smith, a third-year participant in the Demidov Teacher Certification Program, who serves as an associate facilitator and guide to the new cohort. The faculty will also feature guest appearances by certified Demidov teachers Kimon Fioretos and Nolan Hennelly, enriching the experience with diverse perspectives and global expertise.
